What families look at first
- A recent, clear photo: face visible, plain background, no heavy filters or group photos
- Name, date of birth, height and where they live now
- Education and what they do: role, employer or business, city
- Parents' occupations, siblings and whether they are married, native place
- Diet and, for many families, rashi, nakshatra, gotra and manglik status
- A short About me that sounds like a person, and expectations that are preferences, not demands
- One contact person with a phone number, usually a parent
What to leave out
- Aadhaar, PAN or passport numbers
- Your full house address: city and locality are enough
- Anything about dowry or gifts expected. Giving, taking or demanding dowry is an offence under the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961
- Claims you can't back up, such as an income you don't earn or a degree not yet completed
- Long lists of hobbies or every short course you've done
- A full kundli page: share it when a family asks

Before you send
Missing information
- Current city of residence: She works in Gurgaon, but the notes don't say where she lives. Families ask this to understand relocation and day-to-day life.
- Mother tongue / languages: Families often use this to judge cultural fit. Add it if relevant, for example Hindi or Marwari.
- Family type (nuclear/joint): This is a common question about living arrangements after marriage.
- Charan, Gan, Nadi, Kuldevi: Add these only if the family uses them for kundli matching. Many families match these points.
- Email: This is optional, but useful for sharing documents and photos.
Points to check
- The family address is shown as locality only (Malviya Nagar, Jaipur). Do not add the full house address.
- Income is written as "approx." because the notes said "around 18 LPA". Confirm the figure, or remove it if you prefer to discuss it in person.
- The parents' names use "Shri" and "Smt." as given in the notes. This is a common, respectful choice in traditional English biodatas.
Tips
- Attach a recent, clear photo with a plain background and natural light. A second full-length photo also helps.
- Share the full kundli separately, only when it is requested.
- Keep the biodata to one A4 page, and save it as a PDF before sending it on WhatsApp.
Who it's for
- "I'm making my daughter's biodata and don't know how to describe her or our family."
- "Our son works in the US - we need a proper biodata for relatives here and families there."
- "I'm divorced and want to start again. How do I write that without it being the first thing they judge?"
- "My parents want a Hindi or Marathi biodata too, and I don't want to type everything twice."
- "Template sites charge ₹49 just to download, and I still have to write it all myself."
Why people use Rishtapatrika
A biodata is the first thing the other family sees, and most get it from a relative's old Word file or a template site that only lays out what you type. The hard part is the writing: an 'About me' that sounds like a person and not a resume, a family section that shows your values, partner expectations that don't read like a list of demands, and the delicate lines - a divorce, manglik status, a visa, a career break - that families either hide or write bluntly. Rishtapatrika writes all of it from your notes (Hindi, Hinglish or English, messy is fine), in a standard biodata layout, in the language your relatives read. It tells you what is missing before you send it, gives you a short WhatsApp message to go with it, and puts it on a printable A4 design with your photo for free.
- ✓ Write your notes the way you'd tell a relative - in Hindi, Hinglish or English - and get every standard section filled: personal, horoscope, education and career, family, about me, expectations, contact
- ✓ An 'About me' and family paragraph that sound warm and real, built only from what you told us - no 'fair, homely, convent-educated' filler
- ✓ Delicate facts handled with dignity: divorced, widowed, second marriage, manglik, NRI visa status, a career break
- ✓ Partner expectations rewritten so they invite the right families instead of sounding demanding
- ✓ A 'Before you send' check: what's missing, what doesn't match, and what to leave out for privacy
- ✓ A short WhatsApp intro message to send with the biodata to relatives, rishta groups or a matchmaker
- ✓ Free A4 designer: add a photo, choose a design, save as PDF - no watermark, and your photo never leaves your phone
- ✓ Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain and Buddhist formats; English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu

Frequently asked questions
How is this different from a free biodata template site?
Template sites lay out what you type. We write it: we take your notes in any language and order, fill every standard section, write the About me and family paragraph, phrase partner expectations politely, handle delicate facts carefully and tell you what's missing. Then our free A4 designer puts it on a printable page with your photo - no watermark and no download fee.
Can I download it as a PDF with my photo?
Yes. Below the tool, paste your biodata into the A4 designer, add a photo and pick a design, then press 'Print / Save as PDF' and choose 'Save as PDF' in the print window. The photo stays on your device; it is never uploaded. You can also download the text as a Word file from the result.
Will it make up details to make the biodata look better?
No. It uses only what you write. Where an important field is missing, such as time of birth or a sibling's occupation, it leaves a clear [placeholder] and lists it under 'Before you send' so you can fill it in.
How do I write a biodata after a divorce or for a second marriage?
Choose the marital status. The biodata states it once, plainly - for example 'Divorced (2023), no children' - and, if you give context, adds one calm, forward-looking line in About me. It never blames anyone or over-explains. 'Awaiting divorce' is written as 'Divorce in process', which is what families expect to be told honestly.
Should I include horoscope, gotra, caste or salary?
Only if your family wants to. We include them only when you write them. Many families put rashi, nakshatra, gotra and manglik status on the biodata and share the full kundli on request; others leave them out. Salary is optional - many families write it as an annual figure such as '18 LPA'.
Can I get the biodata in Hindi, Marathi or another language?
Yes - English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi and Urdu, in each language's own script. Choose 'English + Hindi' to get both versions in one go, which is handy when grandparents and the couple read different languages.
What should I not put in a biodata?
Aadhaar or PAN numbers, your full home address, and anything about dowry or gifts expected - giving, taking or demanding dowry is an offence under the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. If your notes include any of these, we leave them out and tell you why.
What about NRI biodata?
Choose the 'NRI / abroad' style. It adds country and city of residence, citizenship or visa status (only if you give it), whether you are open to relocating, and where the family lives in India, and shows height in both cm and feet.
How much does it cost?
Your first biodata each day is free. After that, ₹99 / $2 buys one more biodata with 3 revisions (for example 'make the About me shorter' or 'add my sister's details'). The A4 designer and PDF are always free. No subscription.
